The Science For Africa Foundation (SFA) announces the launch of the second edition of the African Science Journalism Awards (ASJA), an initiative supported by the Gates Foundation and organised in partnership with the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ)
The awards aim to recognise excellence in science journalism on the African continent, highlighting outstanding productions in the fields of health, climate change, the environment and agriculture. As well as promoting high-quality science coverage, ASJA aims to expand the network of science journalists in Africa and strengthen their skills on complex subjects.
Three categories are open for entries: Best Article for Print or Broadcast, Early Career Journalist for Print or Broadcast, and Innovation Award for Editors. Entries must be submitted via the Agaseke platform before 5pm on 4 July 2025.
